Waste Not!

One person's trash is another person's...treasure?

Art imitates life; life imitates art.

This has become quite the cliché, but it stands true. Art has always been a commentary on the social order by either calling to action or eliciting a reaction to a specific piece or a body of work. With the modernization of art, artists have been given a larger venue to express their philosophies leaving more room for interpretation to those that interact with their work.

Freecycling At Last

March 6th, 2009 by Jeremy

One person’s trash is another person’s freecycling.

It doesn’t get any cheaper than “free”, my friends. And it doesn’t get any greener than recycling. So when you put them together you’ve got a win-win situation on your hands for both the environment and your bank account. Plus, there’s something undeniably alluring about getting something for free.

Freecycling is like Craigslist without the bartering. Or the “missed connections”… or the “massage” service ads. But anyway – everything on the site is up for grabs, totally for free. The online version of the pile of stuff someone’s left on the curb with a “Free – Take Me!” sign, Freecycling has more than 6.5 million members in more than 4000 city groups around the world. Grassroots, down to earth, and with a double focus that’s beneficial to everyone; get and give good quality stuff that you don’t want anymore, but that you also don’t want to just toss in a landfill. Brilliant.

Sign up is, you guessed it, free. But the goods people are giving away are priceless.
