The Toilet Paper Wrap And More

July 13th, 2009 by Lucas

TP: Now my job will get more interesting because of the toilet paper wrap!

Bonjour!

So my whole two-week birthday festivities are over. It was pretty legitimate as the young folks say. It was topped off with a wonderful co-birthday party (once again, cheap and fun alternative to going out to a bar), my girlfriend taking me out to Jersey Boys (amazing show) and I’m going home to Nova Scotia in late August for two weeks. It’s Friday….let’s talk stocks, bonds, and…er…other stuff

Good Morning, Recessionistas! It’s Friday! And for most of us, it’s going to be the first real summer-ish day in what feels like about four hundred years. What better time to start thinking about Portfolio Management?

Before you stop reading in disgust, flip back over to Perez and try and forget the words “Portfolio Management,” hear me out. I’m with you. Although I’ve certainly heard about portfolio management (in peripheral conversations) and seen portfolio management (advertised in CIBC brochures on the subway) the closest I’ve ever been to portfolio management is reorganizing my colour theory projects and re-sizing my life drawings for my fashion book in university. So when I saw this article, my first reaction was to yawn and return to my regularly scheduled YouTube searching for Adam from American Idol.  But, given my new charge to be up to date on all things financial, I decided to give it another look. And to my surprise, the Globe and Mail has done another excellent job on taking a topic typically more confusing than Nickelback’s success and breaking it down for us younger chickadees without MBA’s or a million dollars in the bank. So here you are; some clear, relevant, interesting and money-making Friday afternoon reading….Portfolio Management for the Under Thirty Crowd. And in case you don’t want to stop there…check out How to Make Your First Million. Happy Reading.
