Fact: Paying the bills is the least enjoyable thing to do, ever. Period.
Fact: You kind of have to do it anyways.
Fact: It’s REALLY important that you do, seriously.
If you’ve ever seen Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, you’ll know that not paying someone back has serious consequences. For those of us who don’t enter high stakes card games, not paying for our expenses on time can still have negative implications. If you don’t learn to be punctual with payments now, you’re screwing yourself over in the long run.
To put this into perspective, let’s look at the outcomes of some scenarios where bills are paid late:
After watching video #3, you should all be debt experts, or debtxperts (sounds better than it looks).
If you’ve been doing real work at the office and need to catch up, here are parts one and two of my interview with Jeremy Kroll of A. Farber & Partners.
In this final video, Jeremy outlines the ways we should budget our money and provides us with a creative way of doing so (it involves envelopes!). He also talks about the “R Plan”; a method for managing one’s financial problems. The video concludes with Jeremy’s last word on coping with debt in the Recession.
If you have any more questions or anything at all to say on the topic of debt, leave a comment!
I call this chic, new look I’m sporting caffeine-deprived blogger. This video will show you just how even the half-living can pay a bill or buy something with the Vanilla Mastercard, which offers, essentially worry-free purchase power to anyone whose limit is at the max, but they still need the convenience of paying for something with a credit card. Most of these cards operate like gift cards, in that you just buy one and go and pay for your stuff. No bills, so no need to hide them from the wife.
I just hopped out of bed and turned the camera on, right after paying a bill. Proof that you need to be less than coherent to use the thing. Now, if only it could do the laundry…
We will all have to deal with debt at some point in time. Sometimes we don’t even see it coming. What we need to do is be smart about it. If we can recognize that we’re in a sticky financial situation and are willing to get help, we are one step closer to being debt free.
If Alcoholics Anonymous has taught me anything, it is that the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.
It's time to grow up and get rid of your debt. These guys know how!
So yesterday I did post on how to prevent and deal with hangovers.I’m finally over mine, so we can get right back into the juicy stuff. Now that I’m over my hangover I had a chance to look over my bank account. Even though camping is one of the cheapest activities (which you will here about another day), when you have no money and spend little money, you still feel it.I’m sure many of you have felt what I am feeling right now; a credit hangover. Here are ten tips Rate Nerd was nice enough to donate on how to beat a credit hangover and hopefully will make you look at debt and spending differently.
Lord Voldemort is probably the best and worst example of some of the things we should or shouldn’t do to manage the stress in our lives. We all have our goals–his happens to be killing Harry Potter, but you may want to manage your finances or be a more well-rounded individual than that. Well, take some hints from what He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named, for in this blog, These-Things-Shall-Be-Named. (more…)
