I’ll Take Coffee With That Vanilla, Thank You

July 28th, 2009 by George

I call this chic, new look I’m sporting caffeine-deprived blogger. This video will show you just how even the half-living can pay a bill or buy something with the Vanilla Mastercard, which offers, essentially worry-free purchase power to anyone whose limit is at the max, but they still need the convenience of paying for something with a credit card. Most of these cards operate like gift cards, in that you just buy one and go and pay for your stuff. No bills, so no need to hide them from the wife.

I just hopped out of bed and turned the camera on, right after paying a bill. Proof that you need to be less than coherent to use the thing. Now, if only it could do the laundry…

Credit Hangover!

It's time to grow up and get rid of your debt. These guys know how!

It's time to grow up and get rid of your debt. These guys know how!

So yesterday I did post on how to prevent and deal with hangovers. I’m finally over mine, so we can get right back into the juicy stuff. Now that I’m over my hangover I had a chance to look over my bank account. Even though camping is one of the cheapest activities (which you will here about another day), when you have no money and spend little money, you still feel it. I’m sure many of you have felt what I am feeling right now; a credit hangover. Here are ten tips Rate Nerd was nice enough to donate on how to beat a credit hangover and hopefully will make you look at debt and spending differently.

Tips on Getting a Credit Card

June 18th, 2009 by D.J.

Yesterday, I interviewed a financial advisor about things we should all keep in mind when getting a credit card.

I often try to be funny. Sometimes it works out well. Sometimes it does not.  Yesterday’s interview was a rather strange situation because there really wasn’t a whole lot of room to be funny.  I hugged him at the end, but I wouldn’t call that funny. I would call that good journalistic appreciation. The man shared a lot of information with me. He deserved a hug.

So this video may not be super funny and it may be a little long, but I sure did learn a lot. Check out the video, and see if you learn some stuff too. For example, did you know that even if you pay off some bad credit, the blemish still shows up on your record for seven years!? Oh, you did know that? Well shut the hell up, smart-ass.
