Back To School At A Bargain: Part 1
When turtlenecks replace tank tops, you know the seasons are changing. Autumn is just around the corner (I’m sorry, I had to say it!), and that means one thing for thousands of children and adults of all ages: back to school. For many, back to school also means a fun shopping trip for some new duds and a stop at the department store for shiny new paperclips.
With the purse strings still a bit on the tight side, I thought it might be nice to share some ideas on how to prepare for school without blowing up your piggybank.

Webisodes On A Budget
Hey all. D.J. and I have prepared a little treat for you of a behind-the-scenes look at the making of an episode of Two Guys Living Together. This was recorded on a laptop webcam and uploaded straight to YouTube. Hopefully soon we’ll be able to incorporate live streaming with a chat function so you guys can suggest things to put right into the episode live! Your suggestions could very well make it into the final cut of one of our episodes! Leave me a comment below if you think this a good idea.

Debt Perception (Part 3 of 3)
After watching video #3, you should all be debt experts, or debtxperts (sounds better than it looks).
If you’ve been doing real work at the office and need to catch up, here are parts one and two of my interview with Jeremy Kroll of A. Farber & Partners.
In this final video, Jeremy outlines the ways we should budget our money and provides us with a creative way of doing so (it involves envelopes!). He also talks about the “R Plan”; a method for managing one’s financial problems. The video concludes with Jeremy’s last word on coping with debt in the Recession.
If you have any more questions or anything at all to say on the topic of debt, leave a comment!

Why Go In, When You Can Get Out?
I just cancelled my gym membership. It’s part of my policy in trimming down my finances, but I’m not going to let that work against my ongoing task of trimming down my already close to perfection physique. Ok, that’s an outright lie–I haven’t used the membership during most of the contract and I’m ashamed to say I already had weights at home that I could have been using this whole time. (more…)

I’ll Take Coffee With That Vanilla, Thank You
I call this chic, new look I’m sporting caffeine-deprived blogger. This video will show you just how even the half-living can pay a bill or buy something with the Vanilla Mastercard, which offers, essentially worry-free purchase power to anyone whose limit is at the max, but they still need the convenience of paying for something with a credit card. Most of these cards operate like gift cards, in that you just buy one and go and pay for your stuff. No bills, so no need to hide them from the wife.
I just hopped out of bed and turned the camera on, right after paying a bill. Proof that you need to be less than coherent to use the thing. Now, if only it could do the laundry…

Man vs. Van - Playing for Keeps

Imagine My Surprise...
The other day I was driving down a residential street when suddenly the car started to shudder. At first I thought I had hit a bumpy patch of road, but something told me to pull over. As I slowed down and pulled towards the curve, the car jolted and I heard the screeching sound. One of my tires seemed to want to break. I had to fight the steering wheel, but luckily I had stoppped by then. I jumped out (after checking traffic, of course) and went to look after the source of the noise. (more…)

A Gay Ole’ Time: Pride Festival On The Cheap
One event that I refuse to miss, regardless of my financial situation, is PRIDE Weekend!
Whether it’s the sweaty shirtless men, the dance parties in the streets, or just the happy and positive vibe it represents, PRIDE is an event like no other! And to top it off, it can be done with little to no money at all!!
Check out this video to see why summer festivals are totally worth going to AND how easily they can be done on the cheap (keeping in mind Virgin Fest hits Vancouver this weekend, Ontario on August 29th/30th, and Alberta on August 8th/9th)!

I Don’t Give A Folk
Okay, so that’s a little bit untrue. I actually care a lot. Too much, even.
That’s why I lament the terrible things in the world that people cause and the very few things that still exist that everyone of all ages can enjoy. (Shoot me, I’m a cynic…) Anyhoo, the truth is, there are a few things that everyone can enjoy- and music is one of them. (more…)

Theme Parks & Face-Paint Mustaches
Bummed-out cause you can’t afford a vacation this summer? Don’t fret my pet. I ended up at a local theme park this weekend and will totally vouch for the fact that I got JUST as “out of my element” and had JUST as many laughs as I would have had on any given weekend excursion! All for under 50 bucks!
Check out a tidbit of our adventures at Canada’s Wonderland! face-paint mustaches and bungee jumping included!
