I’m Sorry {Your Name Here}

September 15th, 2009 by Thaddeus
This is not going to be easy for me.

This is not going to be easy for me.

I’m writing you this because I think our relationship has run its course. I also really need more space, I don’t like feeling like an elephant in a telephone booth. I hope you understand. I don’t know how to break it to you, but I had to find something else. You know what they say: out with the old, in with the new! The wise Righteous Brothers wrote a song called “You’ve lost that lovin’ feeling.” You might want to listen to it a few times, because I’ve lost that loving feeling.

Sometimes you need to take things a bit slower, and just have fun. Unfortunately, this relationship is becoming too serious for my tastes. It’s not you, it’s me (and the recession ending). Really. It may be a typical line, but it’s true: we just aren’t meant for each other. I may love you, but I’m definitely not in love with you. You’re gonna have to learn to accept that. I’m not sure whether we can see each other again, or if I will blog in the future but, for now at least, I definitely need my own space. I think you get the idea: this relationship is over.

Wish it could have worked out, but please leave me one last comment below to remember you by. The people here who wrote this for me really captured what I was feeling. I mean every word.

Just kidding, but seriously.

Smart Shopping 101

September 9th, 2009 by Thaddeus

Professor Dealzmodo still has it.

The photo explains it all.

Well Professor Dealzmodo is back at it again. I know I know this is probably my fourth time talking about him, but you gotta love Sean Fallon. This guy just knows how to save money, and not only knows; he explains it in very good detail. My hat goes off to him. Well it seems like he wants to help us one last time. He explains now that school is coming/here you should be a savy tech shopper. I definitely like my tech gear but it can be expensive sometimes don’t you agree? Well not only does he help you cut corners, he helps you be green too. We never want to forget about saving our environment while trying to get to the next level of War Craft (I have never played it, but isn’t that how it works?). He has created an article linking all of his articles that can help you save this fall. I have touched on one or two before but this is definitely a must read for anyone who loves technology loves to save the environment, or loves to save money. I’m sure that covers all of us.

Coming To A TV Near You

September 7th, 2009 by Thaddeus

tv-addictIt’s September and besides back to school, summer ending, and Halloween decorations appearing, it’s an all-new season for TV shows. Don’t lie; everyone always says I don’t watch that much TV because you’re out saving the environment, studying for school, or working. Well that’s a bunch of BS, because it all goes out the window when you watch a series that you completely fall for and then you wind up like me, watching Mad Men (best show by the way) at 3am the night before a soccer game. Well doesn’t it suck when you see a new show that really catches your eye, but you don’t quite understand because you have missed the first five episodes. I HATE that, so I decided to remind you of what’s coming to a TV near you.Well MacLean’s, yes the same MacLean’s that does school rankings, and prestigious articles on the environment, business, health and media have made a list of the five most anticipated shows coming this fall. I think you should check them out ( I added my personal choice) so you don’t fall behind.

Texting While Driving Can Be A Killer

September 3rd, 2009 by Thaddeus

C u soon, ttyl, lol, are all phrases that we are familiar with especially in today’s society where text messaging consumes a lot of our phone use.  In the past year or so, there has been a growing concern about texting and talking while driving.  Unfortunately we still here about accidents and I even see people texting and talking while on the road.  The Toronto Star published an article about this very popular YouTube video that a british police department created to turn kids away from texting while driving.  After watching it I was completely in shock and don’t plan on texting while driving anytime soon.  Regardless of if you’re in Britain or in Canada, texting while driving can be one of the most dangerous things you can do.  I know your phone is more important then your wallet or even food, but please check out this video and think the next time you decide to text while you are driving. If it is an emergency or time sensitive just pull over to the side of the road. Please. The video is a bit graphic but nothing from a Quentin Tarantino movie. Comments are always appreciated…I would love to here your thoughts.

This time I am not kidding.

I am pretty much asking if you want to become a blogger. Well if you do, or are curious about it, what the hell are you waiting for? Frugal Dad, one of my favorite bloggers actually gives some tips on how to make a quality blog and well heck, I read it and it helped me. Technology Gets Steamy

August 25th, 2009 by George

Now You Have An Excuse To Pet Your Mouse

Now You Have An Excuse To Pet Your Mouse

Technology has tended towards sleek, streamlined design, which makes it look like, well, technology. However, there’s a movement that’s been going on for sometime, with the goal of adding a bit of romance to the almost obvious form of most technological devices that we use today. It’s called Steampunk, and it hearkens back to the days when showing an ankle was considered hot and if you were one of those gentlemen who needed to pay to see a palm-sized patch of flesh, then you would dial up the number of the nearest bawdy house on a telephone so large that it could be used to knock out an elephant.

Filmmakers Seeing RED

August 20th, 2009 by George

Dodge Superbee Salt Flats color test by Vita Brevis Films from VITA BREVIS on Vimeo.

Cinema will be undergoing a revolution in the next few months and it has culminated in the release of the movie, “District 9“, directed by Neill Blomkamp. The movie was made for a budget of $30 million (small for a film of this magnitude) and has since made back its budget on the opening weekend alone. I believe there will be a new trend in cinema that will allow filmmakers to shoot at lower budgets, while maintaining film quality, all thanks to the RED camera, developed by Jim Jannard and Co.

Video Evidence of Energy Vampires…Rapping.

July 15th, 2009 by Thaddeus

So yesterday was Thade’s Tech Tuesdays and I posted about how crappy energy bills were. In the article I spoke about these vicious species called Energy Vampires that come and suck the living hell out of your electronics and you don’t even realize. This happens when the electronic, appliance, or device is not in use but still plugged into a power source. I know eh, sneaky bastards! (more…)

The Devil, You Say?

July 14th, 2009 by George

The Power Of Kindness Compels You!

The Power Of Kindness Compels You!

It’s pretty common nowadays for people to say how technology can bring us together, but there are a lot of people that would argue that it does the complete opposite. They would argue that all the time we spend in front of the computer or the multitude of technological devices available to us actually make us into less socially interactive people. I tend to disagree. It’s not the tool, but how you use it that’s important. If you want to know the truth of the situation, just look at parking meters…
