Dear Diary,
It’s already the second week of September. Can you believe it? Here I am wearing my parka and UGG boots thinking a brisk fall breeze will knock me off my feet when another heat wave plagues Toronto. As you may have guessed, I’m sweating like a fat kid in a candy store. Perhaps I should shower. Nah, too lazy. Anyways, Diary, I figured I’d take advantage of this nice weather find some stuff to do outside.
This is what I have in mind:
Art Walk: The ROM hosts free themed walking tours of Toronto areas. This week, you can check out Yorkville and the Annex. I think this is fabulous. Being Toronto raised, I am ashamed to say that I really don’t know much about the city’s past. The tours look like a really unique opportunity to get to know our beloved Hogtown a little bit better.
A Corny Festival: Bring in the fall with Callingwood (AB)’s Corn Festival. Proceeds from the festival go to a great cause (Firefighters Burn Treatment Society) and there’s plenty of food and entertainment to keep you satisfied on Saturday afternoon. Added bonus? You can get Fire Truck tours! You know what that means, hot firemen (and firewomen)! Ow owwww!
Back To School Patio Party: Haligonians rejoice! The Coast lists their favourite student pubs to celebrate your return to higher education. Back in the day, pubs used to be at the forefront of academic advancement. I say bring that back!
A Night At The Market: I know this happens all summer in Vancouver, but there’s only a month left to take advantage of the Summer Night Market. It’s a cool cultural event, and a way to pass the time on a summer weeknight.
Dancing In The Street: Hey Winnipeg! It’s the Sherbrook Street Festival on Saturday. Live music, vendors, and good times. Be there or be square.
Okay Diary, I don’t know how I’m going to get across Canada for these events but I will try.
Talk to you soon!
Xoxo
