I love watching movies but I’m definitely not that kind of person who will base my movie-going experience on what kind of reviews a film has gotten. Besides, 5 pages for one movie review? You’re basically outlining the whole plot, play by play.
For all of those impatient cinephiles like myself, I bring you Matadoms.com’s Simple Movie Reviews. Although there’s only a small database of pint-sized reviews, the selection is worth a read and in my opinion, should be expanded into it’s own website.
Each review follows a simple format: If you like X then you will like Y. For example: “If you like Zach Braff’s self-indulgence, then you will like Garden State.”
That just about sums it up, does it not?
Here’s my favourite: “If you like demonstrations of lemon painting, then you will like Instructional DVD on Oil Painting—Lemons.”
I decided to make a couple of my own simple movie reviews to help you guys out in case you were yearning to watch any of these films but couldn’t stand to sift through an extensive critique. You’re welcome.
If you like potheads, outer space, and bubble wrap, you will like Dude, Where’s my car?
If you like being confused and happy girlfriends, you will like The Time Traveller’s Wife
If you like menopause, you will like Sex And The City: The Movie.
If you like bad movies, you will like Crossroads.
If you like 30 second bunny movie re-enactments, you should watch more here.
If you like Roger Ebert and dislike Transformers: Revenge of the fallen, you will like this.
