I can has things to look forward to?
Greetings from the Big Apple!
I’ve been trying my best to stay out of trouble (stores) but I’m partially failing. I’m sticking to the bargains though, I promise. I would never let you down!
Anyways, I’m going to do things a little differently today. Instead of giving you a list of things to do, I’m going to tell you how to look for sweet & cheap events in your area! Next week I’ll continue with the list but this week I’m turning you all into deal diggers and event seekers. SHAZAAM!
So here are the places to look for things to look forward to on the interwebs:
Local Magazines / Publications–I find that a lot of really cool happenings are advertised in alternative weeklies. Here is a list of Canadian publications that are worth checking out!
Municipal / Provincial websites–Local government pages often include an “events” link. Unique free events are going on all summer long. Something you never knew existed may catch your eye. A few municipal sites even have recession guides! Check out Toronto’s.
Friends and Family–There have been so many places I’ve discovered by asking a friend, “what should I do today/this afternoon/tonight?”. I’ve personally helped a handful of bored buddies find inexpensive places to have a good time, heck, I can be that buddy for you too, buddy.
Google–If the Internet was a monarchy, Google would be the king (SYR would be princess). As obvious as it may be, it’s pretty easy to find lots of cheapness by typing in word-city combinations like “Cheap Vancouver”. It’s a lot of fun. Almost as fun as Googling your own name. Don’t tell me you haven’t tried it because I will not believe you.
Do you have any awesome resources for finding cool cheapness?
