The Gift Therapist: The Gift of Three (Part 2)

August 11th, 2009 by Thaddeus

Let the interview continue…

I always have a hard time finding the perfect gift for someone, how can I make sure I get the perfect gift? Say for under $30. (Damn Recession)

Here’s a great way to improve your gift giving success by 100%. Rather than thinking of a gift (noun) to give, think of what experience you would like to give the recipient instead. For example, would you like your best friend to have a crazy night out with the guys? If so, build a theme gift around that! Pick a central gift that embodies that theme and pick two other smaller gifts to tie the theme together. This is my “patented” gift of three strategy. Save even more cash by making one of the smaller gifts yourself or have other friends chip in to make the gift even more fabulous! Doesn’t that make gift giving more fun? For a quick tutorial on the gift of three, check out my video above (look up)…….or visit my blog for seasonal gift suggestions.

There’s more….

What do you mean by your blog post Christmas in July?

The best way to ensure that you stay within you holiday budget is to start planning for holiday giving right now. Don’t get caught with your credit cards on Christmas Eve because you failed to plan! Follow my instructions and watch how much you will save this year!

What is one thing the majority of people do not know about gift giving, especially during the recession?

Don’t feel it’s necessary to give an expensive gift because you feel it is necessary to reciprocate. A well thought out and meaningful gift will run circles around a gift with a giant price tag any day! When you focus on the act of giving rather than the gift itself, you’ll never loose!

A bit more about Jennifer…..what is your favorite type of pizza?

Honestly, I never met a pizza that I didn’t like. But if I absolutely had to choose, I would say a thin crusted hand-tossed with mushrooms and pepperoni or just a plain white pizza with fresh tomatoes from my garden. Either/or would really light me up like fireworks!

Where can we find more of your tips and blog posts?

In my mission to reach the masses, I can be found almost anywhere in cyberspace including facebook, youtube and ehow. You can also stalk me out anytime by visiting HERE.

So I just wanted to say thanks to Jennifer for being so down to earth and easy to work with.  I suggest everyone should check out her stuff,  she’s a pretty cool american cat.  However this article is bitter sweet for me because anyone that I give gifts for now are going to expect some crazy perfect gift.  The pressure is definately on.

Just kidding, but seriously.

  1. Thank YOU, Thaddeus for including me! If you think you are now under pressure, imagine how I must feel! But my profession does keep me on the straight and narrow when I am tempted to buy my way out of a complicated giving situation. The perfect gift doesn’t exist…it’s how you give that gift that counts!
