Hey folks!
This is going to be a busy week. Hopefully mister sun sticks around so we can enjoy it that much more!
Here’s what there is to look forward to this week:
Halifax Pride—Get your rainbow gear together because there are plenty of fabulous and frugal Pride events going on until the 26th. Free art shows, cheap concerts, drink deals, and a picnic, what more can you ask for?
Fancy-Free Fashion—I mentioned this event last week but may I remind you that Toronto is the new home to Frugal Fashion Week. Check out the thriftiest and trendiest fashion event of the summer!
Food Glorious Food (and baseball)—From July 24-26, if you sit in a certain section in the Rogers Centre (or Skydome, if you’re old school) for the Jays game, you will have all-you-can-eat food privileges. Unlimited artery clogging goodness for the price of your game ticket? Sounds like a home run to me!
Fire And Lights—Celebration Of Light, a Vancouver event sponsored by HSBC is a musical fireworks competition that is free to watch if you are not under house arrest. On July 22, 25, 29, and August 1st, you can view the light show at 10pm. Suggested viewing spots are: English Bay, Kitsilano, Vanier Park, or Jericho Beach. Date night!!
Caribbean Vibe—No need to go down south this week. The Caribbean Days Festival brings the colourful culture of central America to North Vancouver’s Waterfront Park. There are loads of free events happening this weekend for your enjoyment.
Capital Music—For music fans that enjoy tunes from around the world, the nation’s Capital has free shows on the Plaza Bridge. A view of Rideau Canal and some awesome music, what a way to spend an afternoon! There are concerts this week on the 21st and 23rd but you can catch performances every week until August 6th.
As always, you can leave a comment or e-mail me regarding cool events in your area to be published next week! Romi.SYR@gmail.com
